Vision
It’s all in the details
My fascination with the sense of vision is a recurring theme in my work. I believe in the power of observation for learning, image creation for communication, and visual perception for understanding. I have come to appreciate the often-overlooked gift of sight, particularly influenced by my niece’s visual disadvantage, which made me realize what vision means to me and what a gift sight really is.
Within my work, concentric circles serve as a metaphor for creative courage, encouraging viewers to turn inward for introspection or venture outward beyond their comfort zones. Colors are chosen intuitively and are an important part of my work. They set the mood, make a statement and can change the way you feel.
I invite you on a journey through my colorful art. Take your time and let your eyes travel over my paintings to imaginary worlds, where you’ll find happy memories and sparks of joy.
Paper
I love working with paper, it’s a medium I adore for its tactile nature and responsive qualities. In my most recent creations, I’ve taken this love a step further by incorporating paper and cardboard to craft unique frames. Picture smaller-sized paintings, each adorned with handmade paper-mâché frames, adding an extra layer of artistry to my work.

Circles keep showing up. Concentric circles, nine of them. I’m born on the ninth day of the ninth month, maybe that has something to do with it.
The Gift of Sight
The Gift of Sight is a small collection of 9 pieces in different colors. All the lines are drawn with a dip pen in Cherry Red acrylic ink. Every piece has small details in gold leaf metal.
All paintings in this series are framed and available for sale. For each painting that is sold 48 euros will be donated to Retinoblastoom Centrum Nederland and directly benefits retinoblastoma. This may be in the form of scientific research or something simpler to educate children about the disease. You don’t have to buy my art to make a donation every cent for cancer research counts! Thank you for your kindness.
Color
Color is the most important ingredient in my work. I love color. I don’t have to think about colors; they come to me intuitively.
