New Beginnings

‘New Beginnings’ is a series of paintings about starting over – or better said – in a new way. I explore new ways to create and be inspired. Concentric circles are used as a metaphor for creative courage. Sometimes you need to turn inwards, to dive deeper in yourself. Other times you need to expand, take a leap and get out of your comfort zone. Vision is the sense that fascinates me the most. Painting and drawing is my way of communicating. With my art I like to tell stories that may be hard for me to express in words.

My role in this world as an artist is to decorate it. Create happy atmospheres where positive energy can thrive. Art is about expressing feelings. With my art I create an image of thoughts that people can respond to or that can help people to visualize what they can’t say in words. You can keep your mouth shut so no words will come out, but you can’t hide in a drawing or a painting. The things you don’t put on paper are as important and significant as the things that are drawn. A drawing can say a lot about a person and their struggles. It helps them see it. If you can see what’s happening you can take action.

‘Hidden Depths’ is the first painting created in the series ‘New Beginnings’. The color palette of aqua blues, hot pink and sandy browns reminds me of underwater adventures and a peaceful ebb and flow of things. This is a deep dive in to my intuition and an expression of my inner vision.
